The Mechanist's Chair by KadenDragon The Mechanist's Chair by KadenDragon
Project assignment 4 of my 3-D design class

Concept: To make a functional artistic chair out of steel with strong emphasis on asymmetry

Yay more welding!!
Inspired by Thief: Metal Age
It took me a while to get the feel of this one, though visiting the metal salvage yard was loads of fun.
This is like about a $30 chair
Rust 'n all

Note or comment if you wish to know how it was made

If Kidd disapproves then I've accomplished the objective
Thank you :'D
Yuss!
I scavenged for the metal, measured it, cut it, sandblasted it, welded it, cut it again, sand blasted it, welded again and then left it outside
I was lucky that it had been raining a bunch, so the parts I sanded re-rusted
haha thanks

not really
well at first I wasn't really feeling the project
the seat was a square then I sawed it half to make the triangle bit
and I reused the the other half of the square for the back bit
plus I was able to use what materials I had
because I wouldn't have had enough if I stuck with the square seat
what was most frustrating was that someone from another class was taking my stuff
and it even had my name on it
they even cut one of them in half and welded one half to their project which was, sorry to say, kind of bad looking
but I managed without it!
